So Much Love – Kneehigh’s "Tristan & Yseult"

I have been reminded of this image, and the play it comes from, by a conversation on Internet Party about rejection and being a member of the Club of the Unloved, one of the metaphors in this amazing theatre work.

This is from Kneehigh Theatre’s production of Tristan and Yseult. I saw it with a slightly different cast when it was in Australia for the Sydney Festival back in 2006, and it is still the absolute best thing I have ever seen in a theatre.

Also, this is one of the most romantic photos I have ever seen, made even more incredible when you realise they were swinging all over the stage. It was a miracle they didn’t headbutt each other multiple times!

Seriously, I can’t tell you how much love I have for this production. It pains me that there is no DVD I can watch to revisit its magnificence whenever I want. (I *did* however get a postcard of the show signed by the cast and crew. SUCH a special thing!)

Honestly, SO MUCH LOVE.
